    Can't beat the view
    We loved our stay here. The views are fantastic and unlike most of the places to stay in Riomaggiore, this place is it's own house with a yard and fantastic views. Pretty much everything else we saw was an apartment and not as likely to have the views that you have here. Pamela the owner was great! She was very responsive and met us at the train station on check in day. The house was very comfortable and well appointed which came in handy on a rainy day when most of the businesses were closed. We were able to cook for ourselves in the kitchen with stuff we purchased the day before thanks to Pamela's heads up about the incoming weather and it shutting down most of the stores that next day.

    Beautiful Family Home in Paradise
    Pam's home in Riomaggiore couldn't have been better, would highly recommend. Pam was a wonderful host, a great communicator, and when she couldn't meet us, she made us feel right at home with her local assistant Simone. She even left us a bottle of wine and sparkling water in the refrigerator. The home was spotless. The views were amazing. She left out chairs in the outdoor areas for us. Beach towels. She thought of everything. The house is high up a steep incline, but for the views, totally worth the climb. If climbing is not easy, you might want to take advantage of the luggage service which Pam will give you the information within her very handy package after booking. This is a wonderful family home to enjoy paradise.

    Paradise in Riomaggiore
    This property is even more stunning than the online photos. The view is breathtaking and the home is much bigger than we had expected. We were able to enjoy wonderful family time together in this lovely location. It is very quiet and serene and has great amenities. We would definitely come back. Pamela was extremely helpful and provided valuable information to help us enjoy our time in Riomaggiore. A real gem.

    Cinque Terre house
    We had an amazing experience in Cinque Terre. We booked this house through VRBO and the communication was great with the owner. We really enjoyed the location of the house and it was well stocked with everything we needed. Thank you for all of the information you provided us prior to the trip. Thank you also for your advice on how to get to your property and helping us book the local taxi driver. It was seamless. Simone was very helpful with the check in and check out!

    Breathtaking views and great location
    There is no doubt I would recommend this home to others for a perfect base to enjoy and explore Cinque Terre. If you’re into fantastic views, an incredibly well laid-out and appointed home, fantastic location above the Summer crowds and noise, then Pamela’s breathtaking Riomaggiore home and gardens are absolutely for you. Her personal care and attention to our booking, meeting us upon our arrival and offering her helpful tips on how to best access Cinque Terre and each of the five beautiful towns were so welcomed and so informative. Her home is bright, spacious and oh so comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked and really well laid out. It’s a bit of a trek up from the train station, but so worth it. You will rise above the Summer tourist crowds and their noise, to relax on outdoor lounge chairs or sleep in comfy beds. We fully enjoyed the beautiful and expansive views of the Ligurian Sea from the great grass patio. I wished we could have stayed longer to further enjoy Pamela’s beautiful home and hospitality. We will be back soon!!!

    Magical place, lovely hostess
    This was one of the best places we stayed during our two weeks and 5 cities in Italy. It was exactly as advertised, with a fabulous view and inside the town of Riomaggiore, which is hard to find during June when we stayed. Our host Pamela was prompt to reply to all of our correspondences, met us at the train station as planned and guided us up to her beautiful house. She had left wine, water, coffee, tea, snacks, pasta, and many more essentials for us in the house so we didn’t have to rush out right away. And she brought us fresh apricots from one of her trees on our first night for us to enjoy - they were delicious and she was delightful. Truly a magical place. I would return in a heartbeat.

  • With stunning views and lush terraces overlooking the scene below, this is truly a paradise. The villa is very clean and modern, comfortably and attractively furnished, the beds are comfortable, the bath good sized, and the kitchen fit for a gourmet. It also has something else we had not found elsewhere in Italy - a dryer! While most properties advertised a washing machine, it was our experience this did not include a clothes dryer... After almost 2 weeks of traveling throughout Italy, it was wonderful to settle in Riomaggiore for a relaxing finale to our trip. Easily accessible by train, the town itself is a short walk (or elevator ride) down the hillside from the villa and has many restaurants and shops. Many thanks to our hostess, Pam Bonanni, for sharing her paradise with us - we can't wait to come back!

    Amazing home in Riomaggiore!
    Pam’s home in Riomaggiore is the perfect place for enjoying Cinque Terre. The home is situated near the top of the town, which provides a calm escape from the crowds down below. Plus the view is simply spectacular. The home itself is wonderful, with an open floor plan that allows the house to be filled with light and views of the sea. The kitchen is functional and well-stocked, with a large refrigerator, gas stove, oven, toaster oven, coffee maker, and in-sink water filter, plus all the cooking and dining gear you could ever hope for. The bathroom is large and bright, with a good washer and dryer, a large bath/shower, and endless hot water. With five of us, we never ran out of hot water. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. And the outdoor space is beyond description, with a great outdoor dining patio off the kitchen and a large level lawn with reclining chairs where we would drink wine and soak in the views of the Ligurian Sea and the town below you. Without question this was the most relaxing and enjoyable place we stayed during our two week Italian vacation. And Pam was a wonderful host, providing useful local knowledge, attention to detail in her communication, and gracious extras like guiding us to the house and welcoming us with a bottle of local wine. This was a 5 star vacation rental experience.

  • We stayed at Pamela’s place for 3 nights, but would have loved to stay longer. The home is so much better in person, it’s sparkling clean (which is imperative for us) and the view is absolutely breathtaking from every window. There were so many more amenities than any other place we have stayed in Europe; in the kitchen there was a coffee maker, coffee, toaster oven, blender, great cookware, 5-burner gas stove, big sink, etc., there is a good-sized washer AND separate dryer with detergent (which we really appreciated after traveling for almost 3 weeks), the shower was squeaky clean, the towels were plentiful and fluffy, the hot water and pressure was great and although we brought most of our own things, there were plenty of recognizable shampoo, conditioner and soap supplies. In the great room (which is bigger than it looks in the pictures) there is a very large table, two very comfortable leather couches, a nice coffee table, a beautiful sideboard and a big flatscreen TV. The TV had a good number of English channels, but best of all, it’s a smart TV so you can get all your favorite shows via the internet. The WiFi connection was excellent, and there was a printer available although we didn’t need to use it. The bed was comfortable (we only used one room, but the other beds seemed softer than most European beds) and there was plenty of drawer and closet space with lots of hangers for our clothes. The decorations are so much better in person, too; lots of wonderful artwork throughout the home and tasteful lighting fixtures. Pamela was the quintessential host, she met us at the Riomaggoire train, arranged for her taxi guy to bring up our luggage, showed us around town, pointed out landmarks and good hikes, and even took us to one of her favorite restaurants close to her home. She had wine and limoncello waiting in the fridge, too. After we had a couple of unfortunate mishaps when we were out; Pamela came to our rescue, providing first aid supplies and then taking me down to the local pharmacy to get a cane and pain relief medication for my husband, who hurt his foot so badly he couldn’t walk. She also arranged for a taxi to the La Spezia train station down to the Riomaggoire station when it was time to leave, which made our journey so much easier. Pamela is fluent in Italian and English, which was a wonderful bonus to us, and you can see that she truly enjoys making her guests happy and comfortable. Although there are a lot of steps to get to her beautiful casa, it’s worth every step for the view and all the comforts of home. You will love staying at Pamela’s!

  • You will feel lucky to have found this! Pamela's home in Cinque Terre was one of the best parts of our trip. It is a climb to get to, but so is everything in Riomaggiore! To have your own yard, and also a courtyard in the back - shaded, with a table, just off the kitchen to have meals or peace and quiet was really amazing. The whole place was very well appointed, we had everything we needed. Great bedrooms and baths, very comfortable. Pamela was so nice and very helpful if we had any questions. We had an amazing time.

  • The Cinque Terra portion of our two week trip was a highlight ! Pam was a great host!!
    Be prepared to walk lots of steps! It is worth it.. if you love great sunsets and views of the water. The restaurants were great and we enjoyed hiking. It was awesome when Pam arranged a taxi to our car rental place. Book it and enjoy!

  • Absolutely amazing house!
    I don't know where to begin... the view is truly amazing! The house is perfect, quite large, fully stocked kitchen (with Champagne too! thank you Pam!!), dining room table, washer dryer, beds were quite comfy, even a blow dryer and iron! and the outside spaces - table and lawn chairs - were perfect! Pam was wonderful! Quite helpful, so sweet and has all the local info you could need. We enjoyed our chats with her very much. We highly recommend!! (p.s. if you have a lot of luggage take a cab from La Spezia, they can bring you right in and miss 90% of the stairs in the town - only $35 US.

  • Our stay at this property was wonderful. The house is fully equipped, modern, extremely clean and the view is remarkable. We enjoyed Riomaggiore once we learned the shortcuts and our way around the town. It was a relaxing stay in between the busier parts of our trip. Pamela was very good to work with. This without a doubt is the nicest property we have stayed at. The only caution is it is a climb to get to the house. For our family, it was well worth it for the views and quality of stay.

  • This rental is spectacular. The photos don't even do it justice. It is peaceful yet close to the action. You feel like you are living in a neighborhood rather than visiting as a tourist; in a highly touristy area, this is rare. The views from every window, out the front door, and in the lovely garden are breathtaking. Our family of two parents and three college aged children could not have asked for more.

  • Best home base you could ask for in the Cinque Terre! The views, the amenities, the location, the ease of living here- all combined to make this the perfect place to stay for a trip to the Cinqueterra. My family of five was very comfortable - separate beds for everyone, great outdoor space, a generously appointed kitchen, laundry, and everything was clean and comfortable. We loved Riomaggiore. The people are very friendly and the town and views are beautiful. It’s really easy to get to the other towns by train and there’s great hiking from your backyard. There are a lot of stairs between you and your morning pastry, but that just makes it all the sweeter. We will definitely be returning.

The house is lovely with amazing views of the water. A great place to relax after a day of sight seeing. There is a lot of stair climbing to and from the town or train station, but it’s worth it!

  • A property with a stunning view... we spent half the afternoons sitting in the front yard reading books, drinking wine, and enjoying the view. The property was located more at the top edge of town, so it was considerably quieter than what properties around the main street would be... but still easy enough to walk down for dinner. Being up higher also made it easier to get to the jump off points for many of the trails... in fact, we had trouble finding one trail head simply because it was so close to the property... it really was just 3 doors down! We walked right by it. The kitchen was nicely stocked with those minor things you need to pull together a small meal, but don't want have to buy... salt, sugar, oil... and lots of glass and cookware. Smart TV too (which should practically be required for VRBO rentals!), made it easy to watch home-country programming. Owner easy to contact and made arrangements for someone to meet us and carry our bags up to property, which was nice after a long train. Owner and property made it a nice, easy, relaxing vacation... what more can you want... and that view!

  • Beautiful views! My husband and I stayed here with two of our adult children. The views were stunning, everything in the house worked perfectly and we loved the town. Pamela provided a wealth of useful information about hiking and getting around in general. We loved hiking in the mornings and relaxing at the house with the local wines and food. It's hard to overstate how pretty the area is. The house is at the top of the village. This is perfectly suited for active or at least moderately active visitors. Would absolutely rent this villa again.

  • Great house with stunning view of the Cinque Terre! This lovely house was perfect for our family of four (2 parents and 2 grown kids). The house was bright and cheery and had separate controls in each room for the ac. Two spacious bedrooms, with 3 separate beds in the second bedroom. Nice sized bathroom with washer and dryer. We cooked at "home" twice and the kitchen had all the tools necessary to do that. The living room area was comfortable and my son had fun playing some of the video games from his youth after a day hiking and swimming. Pamela was great to work with and very responsive to questions. She helped me figure out options for getting to Riomaggiore and gave us recommendations of where to get things when we arrived. She arranged for Roberto to meet us to get our bags to the house and to show us around the Villa. This was great because the house is above the town...you don't get that kind of view unless you climb a fair number of stairs! We had a great stay and would definitely rent Pamela's house again!

  • The three nights that we spent at this villa were some of our most memorable in Italy. If you don't mind climbing some steps, the view and peacefulness at the end of each day are more than worth the workout. Pamela was extremely helpful throughout the booking process and our greeter, Roberto, cheerfully assisted us with our bags both upon arriving and returning to the train station. We easily explored all five villages and were always happy to return to Riomaggiore each evening.

  • So romantic! Best place to stay in Italy. I fell in love with the views even before we got there. Pamela was extremely helpful and sent us emails with things to do and sights to see during our stay. The villa was so comfortable, the washer and dryer were like what we are used to in the States and the dryer completely dried our clothes! Fabulous kitchen and patio area that we used to practice our new found cooking skills (we took a cooking class in Levento). View from the living room was breath taking! Roberto met us at the station and took our luggage up to the villa, which was a nice touch as it is a steep up hill walk. The villa felt like home with books for us to read and a tv and gaming console for us to use if we wanted to. There was air conditioning in every room but we elected to keep the screened windows open so we could hear the ocean. This place was paradise and Pamela checked on us after we arrived so it felt like we had a friend that wanted to be sure we were happy and enjoying our stay. The shopping is just down the hill to your right and the hiking is to the left of the villa, there was so much to do there. If you have the chance to go to Riomaggiore this is a wonderful place to stay and you may walk away with a new friend in Pamela as well as a new romance with Italy!

  • What a beautiful gem! We stayed four nights at Pamela's place and I wish I would have rented for a couple or extra nights. The view was absolutely amazing. We were close to everything. It took approximately 5- 8 minutes to get to the train station or the town ( two different ways of getting there). It was nice being "part of the locals", seeing the older men picking vegetables from their huge gardens, hearing Italian being spoken, etc. The trekking in the mountains was great, the boat ferry is extremely expensive (we were a family of 5), using the train was easy, the towns were beautiful. As we say in French, un vrai coup de cœur! Thank you Pamela!

  • Absolutely amazing place! This little gem of a villa is perfectly located for breathtaking views from the garden and a quick walk to downtown. It is very quiet and secluded. Everything you need to cook simple Italian meals is provided in the kitchen. We got up early to head into town to get the freshest bread and pastries. We purchased our groceries at the little shop just above the tunnel on the main road, everything is reasonably priced and the fresh vegetables and cheese are so very good. The beds are very comfortable, there is a washer and drier provided, dishwasher and large refrigerator. Being able to purchase our own food and cook our own meals saves considerable money. We were picked up at the train station and our luggage was delivered right tot he door and delivered back at the end of our stay. The tranquility and peacefulness of this little villa was the perfect relaxing holiday.

  • Amazing view. Awesome experience, immersed in Italian culture.

    What a magnificent house in a spectacular location - the house, the town, the region are unique, ancient and fascinating!. Lovely, spotless home with every comfort and a fabulous kitchen!

    My husband and I always fantasized about spending enough time in Italy to get immersed in the culture. We wanted to be able to shop in the markets and wine shops and then be able to cook in a real Italian kitchen. We wanted to eat where the locals eat, and hang out where they do. When we heard about the Cinque Terre Villa from a friend, we booked 2 weeks.

    We got our wish! The house is on a hillside overlooking the ocean in the tiny town of Rio Maggiore inside the Parco Nationale delle Cinque Terre (an Italian National Park.) There are roads and pathways by the house that lead into the town (which doesn't allow cars, BTW.) In 5 minutes you're in town, shopping in the shops, drinking espresso in the bar, and eating gelato with the locals. The train stops right in town, so moving around and visiting other towns or cities is easy and affordable.

    We took the train, or walked on the trail that runs right above the ocean between the 5 towns of the Cinque Terra in Liguria to other towns. The walks and train rides are beautiful as you pass the vineyards that are terraced onto cliffs above the ocean - make sure to drink some of the locally made wine called schiacattra.


    We started (and often ended) our days in the Bar Centrale. Espresso and pastries for breakfast and wine or cocktails at night. What a bunch of characters in that place.

    One of the best parts of staying at the Cinque Terre Villa is the privacy. You really feel like you are staying in your own home in Italy. It was so relaxing resting in the lounge chairs, listening to the ocean, reading in the hammock, sleeping to the waves, and eating what we wanted, whenever we wanted to. Yet we were just a train ride from the other little towns that dot the coast line.

    Pam (an American from Florida who owns the house) was available to answer questions, make suggestions, and take care of anything that was needed. Her father grew up in the town and her knowledge of the area is immense. From Rio Maggiore you can get to Pisa and Florence to the south and Portofino and Genoa in the north. You don't need a car, but if you want to take day trips to the east you could rent one.

    If you've ever fantasized about living in Italy - cooking freshly made pasta in your own Italian cooking, and drinking wine with friends - this is it!

  • Perfect stay! The villa has everything one needs to be comfortable. The view from the terrace and dining room are absolutely stunning--you can watch sunset while stretched out on a lawn chair sipping wine. It's a short, and quaint, walk to the train station, the beach, shops and cafes. There's a church close by that all the locals get together at...almost everyday seems like, for kids' parties or just to chat; in general the neighborhood is just outside of the heavy tourist area, so you can actually get a flavor for the local living. 2 of the three nights we were there the town was having outdoor concerts--one was a rock/pop one, the other one Italian arias--we enjoyed both from our terrace--although we couldn't see anything, the music was gliding across the water and echoing in the rocks, add the moonlight and some prosecco--totally satisfying experience! The stay was part of our 9 week travel across Europe, and my parents noted this as one of their two most memorable stops (the other was Stonehenge in the UK :) )

  • Not enough adjectives to describe! This place is extraordinary, located on a 1000 foot cliff. The panoramic view is magnificent and the house itself was SPOTLESS! It is spacious (rare in Europe) with two large bedrooms (one queen?) bed and the other bedroom with two twin beds and a twin daybed that also has a pull out twin bed underneath - so 4 twin beds in the second bedroom, one full bath with shower and bathtub, a living area with satellite TV, dvd and cd player and playstation, large dining table and chairs and a fully equipped kitchen. There is a patio with table and chairs for outdoor eating and chairs in the front yard to take in the sweeping views of the Ligurian Sea. The house is furnished nicely and we had everything we could possibly need. The public shuttle stops at the end of the sidewalk less than 30 seconds away. It was nice having a washer and dryer - we sweated a lot after hiking all day:-) I did also want to mention it is so quiet - no noise! We had a fabulous time - would rent this villa again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Pamela, for making everything so easy.

  • Awesome place to stay in Cinque Terra. Pamela's villa in Riomaggiore is absolutely beautiful. The views from the front door and every window is breathtaking. We stayed 4 nights with my wife and two daughters (ages 17 and 19). The villa has everything you need and is spacious (which was real nice change from our other European vacations). After full days of hiking between the different towns, it was very peaceful to come back to our villa and just relax and take in the beautiful sunsets every night. Pamela was great in providing guidance on "things to do" as well as directions, train schedules, etc. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

  • Great home with incredible views! Although we didn't cook, the kitchen has everything you would need to cook full meals. The two bedrooms were both large and well accommodated. The living room was comfortable and we took advantage of the movie player. It has a great dining room table, although we typically sat outside instead to take in the view.
    Although the villa is high up above the sea, the walk up is not bad at all. Pam was awesome to work with. She was very prompt signing the contract and making the payment were both easy, and she even had a driver meet us so we didn't have to carry our luggage up the hill. Cinque Terra was our favorite stop in Italy and the Villa was a big reason.

  • The most incredible place I've stayed. When you exit the train in Riomaggiore you are greeted by the Ligurian Sea. On the cliff there is a tented self serve bar where you can have a drink while you wait for your driver to take you to your beautiful home. The home is 1000 feet above the sea with a panoramic view of the sea and surrounding hillsides. The hillsides are terraced with locals tending their crops. The home is perfectly appointed and the adventure has just begun. I spent two weeks in Italy and the three days at this home was simply the best. I could live there. The owner and I have become social media buddies. I truly would like to spend a month there. Just go. It will all work out beyond your wildest imagination.

  • It's all about location! The views from the house are just what I dreamed vacationing in the Cinque Terre were about. Shopping for wonderful wines, cheeses and vegetables in the little town of Riomaggiore was delightful. There is a bank with an ATM on the street, restaurants and pubs and sunsets, and water and little fishing boats pulled up for the night. It just doesn't get any better! Exploring the area by the train that runs up and down the coast makes everything amazingly easy, and I don't speak Italian. Buy a week-long pass and use the train like you would a bus. Go to Pisa, Florence, or north to Genoa which has ruins, museums, an aquarium. Then zip home to country living with drinks under the apricot tree in lovely lawn chairs.bus. It made such an impression that i can recreate it clearly in my mind when so many other experiences i have had while traveling are just a blur. You can take the train to Manarola the next town north, have dinner and walk home at sunset. Simple elegance is the perfect way to describe my experience...like having a vacation within a vacation......i found myself breathing it all in .....deeply. and feeling at home. Thank you Pam for sharing, I recommend this to all who want a really rich experience, a singular adventure. Come away with a sense of what it feels like to actually live somewhere else. I can taste the sea, the local wines, the ripe tomatoes the warmth of sun on stone and so many sights that speak of history and people living their lives and know that i too breathed that air and walked those steps and saw shadows move across a familiar wall and more........I was able to live the romance of the place .....

It is a lovely place to stay with a family, or a quiet place to reconnect as a couple, sitting on the lawn taking in the sunset with a glass of wine. We stayed there as a family, 4 adults, one child, and we had plenty of room. It's easy to access the village bellow, and the train station for day trips, although, with a view like this, you may not want to leave.

  • Perfect Family Vacation! I chose Riomaggiore because it was small enough where I could take my family and not have to worry about them and still be near enough to do day trips. It was awesome. Not only is the town perfect and right on the railway, but the house was amazing! It is high on the hill and looks out over the ocean facing a little southwest so there is sunshine all day. The house was clean and well stocked with utensils, washer/dryer, and wireless internet - a must with kids. Be warned it is a hike up and down to the town, but it is well worth it for the view and breeze. There is a garden patio where we drank wine and watched the sunset night after night.
    We can't wait to go back.

  • Spectacular Views!

    My husband and I just returned from Riomaggiore on June 10, 2012. We had considered cancelling our trip due to the devastating earthquakes in Northern Italy. We are so happy that we went on the trip. Our souls were refreshed by staying in Pamela's home. The view from the living room/the master bedroom was spectacular. We spent hours in the evenings just soaking up the view.

    The house is one of the nicest that we saw in Riomaggiore. It is up on the hill with no other houses above it. We were so thankful that we were not in one of the small rental apartments in town. We would have been a little concerned from the earthquake standpoint. The kitchen had spices and other things that we normally miss in a timeshare. There are screens on every window.

    We liked Riomaggiore the best of all of the other towns. We found Monterosso to be too touristy. Poor Vernazza has not recovered from the flooding. Corniglia was up on a hill, too far from the ocean and had very few restaurants. Manarola seemed a little small. The best restaurant was the one Pamela recommended called La Lampara in Riomaggiore. We went there 3-4 times in the 6 days we were there.

    Hiking between Monterosso and Vernazza was fantastic. We would love to go back and do many more hikes when the trails are open.

    If you are going to take the time off and fly to Italy to spend some time in Cinque Terre, we would recommend that you spend a little extra and stay in this nice place. This place will add so much to your vacation.

  • Extraordinary!!!!
    My husband and I stayed at Cinque Terre Villa in Rio Maggiore for two weeks in June and it was superb! The view from the villa is incomparable and the home is very modern and easy to deal with.
    The hostess is fluent in Italian and English and is very helpful concerning any questions we had about use of the amenities. The kitchen is wonderfully well stocked and the bedrooms, dining, and living rooms very clean and comfortable. The center of town is close enough to walk in a few minutes and it is extremely easy to either walk or take the train to all the other gorgeous towns in Cinque Terre. I highly recommend Cinque Terre Villa. In fact, I am planning another stay there this year! CAN'T WAIT!!

  • Simply breathtaking! The views are stunning and the accommodations are extremely comfortable. I stayed at this villa with my wife, daughter, and in-laws. It is in a wonderful location that is easily accessible to shops, restaurants, train station, and the beach.

    You can sit in the lawn and watch the sun set on the Medeterranean Sea sipping a glass of local wine. Words do not describe the view. It is situated at an elevation that almost gives you a bird's eye view of the landscape.

  • I can't think of one thing during our stay at the villa that wasn't absolutely perfect! The house has spectacular views and I took some of my most beautiful pictures from the front lawn.......and that's saying something for the Cinque Terre! It accommodates a good number of vacationers with an abundance of space and all the comforts of home. It was so easy to take the trains anywhere and the hiking from town to town is fun and offers indescribable views even for a beginner photographer. The house is even better in person which is not the usual experience. We made dinners in the huge, fully equipped kitchen, and enjoyed them at the picnic table on the rear patio under the lemon trees. All in all, a once in a lifetime vacation in a beautiful home!

  • Pamela's home in Riomaggiore is wonderful! The views are amazing, the beds are the most comfortable that we slept in while traveling through Italy, the washer and dryer are very convenient (especially toward the end of a trip when you're all out of clean clothes), and there are TONS of toys, games, books, videos, video games, etc. to thoroughly entertain all ages! Our kids (ages 8, 7, and 5) were thrilled to have so many options! You'll get your exercise hiking up to this house from the port or the train station, but it's totally worth it to have the view and the privacy (being the house above all the rest)! There's a lemon tree in the yard, which our kids picked some lemons from to make lemonade, and the kitchen is outfitted with just about everything you could need! Pamela's cousin and her husband greeted us right by the gate into town, helped get us through the gate so that we could unpack our car next to the house, and then followed my husband out of Riomaggiore until he could find a parking space further up the road and drove him all the way back! SUPER thoughtful and helpful! And they did the same upon check-out (picking my husband up to drive him to our car, letting him follow them back to get him through the gate to pack our car up, and then seeing us off). You definitely don't need a car in Cinque Terre (and I would recommend not bringing one if possible), but if you're driving in from somewhere else in Italy and then going on from the Cinque Terre, Pamela's cousin, Patrizia, and her husand, Gio, will be of great help when it comes to finding parking! Pamela was great to work with in booking her house, sending us lots of helpful information pertaining to our stay. She even emailed me while we were there to check in on us! I highly recommend staying in Pamela's lovely home! You won't regret it!

  • This home has the most amazing location! The view of the Mediterranean from the home is unbelievable. The time spent at this home is one of my pleasurable memories from our trip to Italy.   • Pamela's Rio Villa was the perfect home base for our week long vacation exploring the Cinque Terre. The house is as advertised and pictured - elegant and comfortable in every way and appointed with everything one needs for convenience. We loved utilizing the spacious kitchen to prepare our meals at breakfast and dinner. With the house located high on the hillside we had wonderful views of the water and surrounding vineyards and village. Once we discovered the shortcuts down to the train station (Yes, it is best to use Pamela's directions that follow the main roads when you first arrive, but after that be sure to head to the castle to find the 'sidewalks' that lead you either down to the village shops or down to the train station.) Catching the train to connect to the other villages and beyond for hikes and exploring was very convenient as all trains stop in Rio. You will find Pamela to be very helpful with trip planning questions and once you arrive at the villa Giovanni is there to get you settled and is always available for additional help and advice. I have no reservations in recommending this rental for a memorable and relaxing vacation.

  • This was my second time here and this time my husband came with me. I hoped he would like it and he loved it as much as I do! The house is so much more than the pictures can convey. Spacious and well appointed, this year we even had a clothes line and dried everything in the Ligurian sunshine(even though there is a dryer). Sitting on the patio outside the kitchen and enjoying breakfast or afternoon wine under the palm tree is LUXURY. We slept so well with the sea breezes blowing through the bedroom windows. Pamela's cousin Patri and husband Gio graciously helped us with anything we needed and we absolutely adore them. We hiked the trails, took day trips....the trains are very easy to navigate. You absolutely can't beat the location of the house and it's surroundings. We have beautiful photos to match our beautiful memories! Pamela provides all the info you need to make arrangements pain free and easy. Riomaggiore is bella! Thanks, Pamela for an unforgettable vacation in your one of a kind home.   • Wow! Nothing else to say, but I will. We are into our second day with one to go, sitting on the deck chairs on the lawn watching the sunset. Cinque Terre is a must see & Riomaggorie is a great village with everything you need. The villa felt like home with a charming rustic homely feel with all the luxuries you would need. The simple things like hanging washing on the line made me appreciate the size & space of the land & villa & the view whilst doing it. Yes the stairs from the village are plentiful but hey to have this view it's worth it. Take time to stay & explore this national parks & surrounds. Our only regret is not having more time here. Great communication from Pamela, she was true to her word. I hope return one day.

  • Perfect house to enjoy Riomaggoire and the Cinque Terre. House was clean, spacious, well-maintained, and had everything we needed during our stay. The view is as good as the pictures show! We stayed there with our two boys (12 and 9) and there was more than enough room. The check-in process was easy - Collette texted us a meeting point and was there waiting for us when we arrived. No problems at all. Looking forward to going back.

  • Wow indeed! The villa was just like the pictures. It was cleaned and ready for our arrival. Pamela gave us excellent instructions on how to get to her villa and she was even there to welcome us!! She was very helpful with information on the trails, trains and restaurants. The villa is in a great location and was very comfortable. The washing machine and the clothes line outside are nice to have. The view of the sea is amazing! Loved sitting on the lawn chairs and enjoying the view, watching the sunsets and the looking at the stars! Wished that we could have stayed longer.   • Mother/Daughter getaway! Absolute Perfection!!!! What a fabulous place. The view is stunning from the patios, the living room, and the bedrooms. (Even better than the pictures). The house was clean, well appointed, spacious, charming and just ideal. My daughter loves to cook and was so excited to get local produce and food from the village and actually have a beautiful and well equipped kitchen. Beds were comfortable. Washer and dryer came in handy and there was also clothes line. Pamela was so helpful. She made sure that we were greeted at the train station and someone was there to get our luggage up to the house. Delightful people. Pamela gave us tips and information on restaurants, places to go and things to do. We were in Italy for over two weeks and this was by far and away the best place we stayed. There were 5 of us and we were all in agreement that this was superb. I am still missing the beautiful Ligurian Sea. I would highly recommend Pamela's place.   • This villa exceeded our expectations. It is a modern villa with "old world charm." It was clean, comfortable and had lots of amenities. The view is spectacular whether we were watching the sun set over the sea, the moon glowing or waking up to a double rainbow. You can't but feel that you are in a magical place. My son and daughter and I enjoyed our stay very much. We hiked, ate amazing food and soaked up the Italian culture. Pamela could not have been more helpful. From the booking to recommendations, she made our plans effortless. We would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
